NASHUA, N.H., September 23, 2014 – Velocity Performance, a leading provider of business consulting and professional training services, has partnered with the University of Massachusetts Lowell to launch a Victory Leadership Academy this fall.
Amanda E. Rogers, Associate Partner at Velocity Performance and Executive Director of the Victory Academy, said, “We are thrilled to be working with the University of Massachusetts Lowell Office of Student Activities and Leadership to bring a Victory Academy to campus. Our goal is to empower the participants to achieve their maximum potential through our Victory Foundation and professional leadership programs. In our corporate training programs, we have witnessed the success of businesses and individuals. We now bring that same approach to the UMass Lowell campus.”
The Victory Academy is an extension of Velocity’s Leadership Academy offering built for executives, professionals and emerging leaders in companies large and small, from Fortune 100 to Inc. 500 businesses. The Victory Academy works with college academic and athletic programs to develop leadership traits and professional skills, and ultimately, to maximize the potential of the participants. The Victory Academy also sets an expectation for all young leaders to go back to their community, team or group and make others better – “the exponential factor,” as the company calls it.
Brenda Evans, Dean of Student Affairs and University Events and Champion Sponsor of the UMass Lowell Victory Academy, eagerly anticipates the launch of the new initiative.
“We are looking forward to the debut of the Victory Academy as an extension of our institutional commitment to transformational education and experiential learning. UMass Lowell believes wholeheartedly in our students’ ability to effect global change and our role is to help them develop the leadership skills they need,” said Evans.
On Oct. 1, 2014, some 60 students will convene at UMass Lowell’s new student-engagement center at University Crossing for the first module of the academy, “The Road to Victory.” As part of the program, the students will complete a Challenge Project and compete over the course of the academy. The Victory Academy will continue throughout the 2014-2015 academic year.
