NASHUA, N.H., October 10th, 2014 – velocityHUB, a leading provider of business consulting and professional training services, has partnered with the Dartmouth College Thayer School of Engineering to launch a Leadership Academy this fall.
Brendan P. Keegan, Managing Partner at velocityHUB and the Inaugural Dartmouth Distinguished Fellow, said, “The Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College delivers one of the most innovative and forward-thinking engineering management programs in the country. The professors, students and curriculum are truly world class. We are excited to partner with the college to bring executive level and real world leadership training to the students at this early-stage in their careers.”
Beginning today, Masters of Engineering Management (MEM) students from the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth will gather for two daylong seminars on professional development and leadership. The Leadership Academy for Engineers will incorporate training from the velocityHUB offering built for executives, professionals and emerging leaders in companies large and small, from Fortune 100 to Inc. 500 businesses.
Dr. Benoit Cushman-Roisin, Director of the MEM program, looks forward to the launch of the Leadership Academy for the MEM students. “Because of his engineering expertise and business prowess, we were honored to host Brendan as the Inaugural Distinguished Fellow in the MEM program. We are now delighted that he and the velocityHUB team have agreed to come again to share outstanding leadership skills with our engineering students.”
Dr. Cushman-Roisin identified a gap in the MEM experience. He turned to velocityHUB to fill that gap. The MEM program is a professional degree program where students participate in courses taught by professors in both the Thayer School of Engineering and the Tuck School of Business. Cushman-Roisin saw that the program offered courses that allow for immersion in the field and internship opportunities, but did not yet provide a means to connect MEM students with business leaders with a previous engineering education.
