NASHUA, NH, February 18, 2015 – This Thursday morning, over 100 youth at the Wilkins Elementary School in Amherst, NH will participate in the Wilkins Victory Academy and;be challenged by velocityHUB to build a foundation of leadership.
Neal Vaupel, teacher at Wilkins Elementary, expressed his excitement about the launch of the program. “When we heard of the success of the Nashua PAL Victory Academy last November, we decided that it was something that our students must experience as well. Here at Wilkins, we work very hard to set a solid learning foundation for our students as they continue on to secondary education. With the Victory Academy, our goal is to propel the students closer to their maximum potential and develop a group of young leaders.”
The velocityHUB team will deliver 3 hours of captivating lessons in helping youth build their own leadership foundation.
The goal of the Victory Academy is clear—to propel the emerging generation to their maximum potential and make those around them better. The school will be filled with learning stations around every corner with coaches from sports coaches to business executives providing definitions, facilitating discussions and leading thoughtful exercises about the Victory Academy’s 9 ATTRIBUTES of WINNERS—9 identified leadership traits of business, athletic and community leaders.
“We recently learned of an alarming statistic—every day, 10,000 baby boomers retire, taking with them 350,000 years of experience out of the workforce,” said Amanda E. Rogers, Associate Partner at velocityHUB and Executive Director of the Victory Academy. “We recognize that a leadership void is being created, and we must build a new generation of leaders. Through our Victory Academy programs like the one at Wilkins, we aim to fill that void and inspire the emerging generation to become the best leaders yet.”
At velocityHUB, the company has witnessed the impact of the Victory Academy programs
across the world’s leading corporate brands such as HP along with highly touted academic institutions locally to include Dartmouth College, Brown University, UMass Lowell, Rivier University, WPI and Amherst College. Velocity developed an elementary and middle school program for the Wilkins Victory Academy targeted at breaking leadership down to 9 foundational elements and delivering the program in a highly interactive, fun environment.
