Last week, we shared the first six of 12 Actions to Become a High Performing Leader. This week, June comes to an end and we start the second half of 2016. The good news is that we all have six more months to make progress on our personal and professional career goals that were set at the start of this year!

The final six of 12 Actions to Become a High Performing Leader should guide you to successfully achieve your professional and personal goals this year. Find a quiet place to sit down and reflect on your development goals. Here are the final six actions to cross off your list:

7. CREATE A HEALTH PLAN
Think about your top three health goals and write them down, keeping in mind a reasonable pace to achieve them. Then make commitments to those goals so that you can become healthier tomorrow than you are today.

8. FOLLOW A FINANCIAL PLAN
Think about your top three financial goals. Write them down and commit to sharing those goals with a financial advisor to ensure that you make progress against your plan over the next six months.

9. DO COMMUNITY SERVICE
Think about your hobbies or passions that bring you joy. Then commit over the next six months to attend and participate in 2-4 community events tied back to those hobbies and passions. This is an excellent way to also expand your personal and professional networks.

10. SEEK A PROFESSIONAL MENTOR
Who are the three people in your personal and professional networks that might support your development by giving you some of their time through a mentoring relationship? Commit to reaching out to these connections to discuss your goals and ask if they will support you to become a high performing leader.

11. READ 3–6 BOOKS BY THE END OF 2016
Go online or to an old-school bookstore – or even visit your local library! Buy or check out a great business book. Commit to reading for personal enjoyment and professional development – you may want to even start a book club with your team!

12. DEVELOP A POSITIVE MINDSET
What is your current ‘positivity-level’? Take some time to determine areas of your life where you can be a more positive person. Commit today to have and project a more positive mindset tomorrow!
